Most residents survive on less than $20 per month, with food rations covering less than a week’s worth of meals. Employment is scarce — not only for refugees but also for local youth, making financial independence almost impossible.

Yet, creativity has found a way to flourish. Through the Creative Gateway program by Ambitious Africa, young refugees are learning 3D modeling and digital design, gaining skills that connect them to the world beyond the camp. With no access to traditional jobs, this work is more than just artistic expression—it is a path to dignity, self-reliance, and a future they can build for themselves.
